Default Guide Strumming

Some people have trouble strumming when starting out with guitar. I never did, but i have taught beginners and some sucked.

First, choosing picks:

One that feels right.

I use medium which can be used for all music.

avoid the super thin ones. They suck.

Next make sure you have a song down, and listen to the song and try to get it to sound alike.

Tips:

Make sure you keep rhythm. Rhythm is very important or it will sound sloppy.

Lightly strum across the strings. Do not viciously shove the pick into the strings scraping the strings so they break (worst case scenario)

Just make it sound good.
