Default Do you prefer
Do you guys prefer electric guitar or acoustic?

I used to prefer acoustic, but now that i got electric i am liking it alot.

I prefer electric. Electrics are much easier to play IMO. You can also simulate acoustic guitar with an electric using an Acoustic Simulator pedal or just having a really nice clean with a lot of reverb.


That pedal is quite good at simulating acoustic guitars.

true. I enjoy both. since i jsut got my new one, if i had to pick, i would pick electric

Electric is more fun, but acoustic is good to learn on. I'll probably get an electric later when I'm better with the acoustic.

I do prefer electric basses over acoustic ones, I suppose, although I never tried an acoustic one. I don't mean the big double basses/upright basses either.

Yeah, electric is more fun and there's a lot you can do on it. But acoustic has finger picking which only sounds good on acoustic... But you can A LOT with electrics.

I'm going to have to disagree on that one. I use a 64 Gibson SG, modified with P90s, through an Acoustic 135 and it sounds great when you finger pick.

I hate using picks, though I'll use one when I need it, and my electrics all sound very good when played fingerstyle.

My other electric is a Gibson L4

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I prefer acoustic over electric, but feedback issues, as well as mix issues, usually steer me towards electrics for live use.
