Default Bass

Introduce yourself as a bassist here. What kind do you use? How long have you been playing? Do you play professionally?

Me? I haven't been playing long. I have a Fender Squire P-Bass and it's only been a year and a half. Still, I can help beginners get to where I am now.

My name is classified :?: but i've been playing bass for 4 years, and am studying my way into music. I passed the test to get into Music College and am now doing other work to raise my marks to get in next semester.

I play an Ibanez BTB450qm, peavey milestone IV, all through an ashdown Mag 300 and a yorkvilkle 115B cabinet.

I mainly play Rock and Metal but really hope to bring other genres and styles into my playing to make me more versatile. My main influences are Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Duff Mckagen, Stanley Clark, John Paul Jones and my favorite Cliff Burton.

I have spent quite a bit of money for my age, spent countless hours practicing and i still suck

At the moment I'm trying to get some bands going on and getting out there but teenagers suck and its hard to find committed people, everybody says they are serious but really are not.

I'm General Electric. I've been playing bass for about 8 years, though I played piano for 7 years before that. I've also played guitar for about 4 years as well.

I guess you could consider me professional, if you consider a sub professional. Bands pay me to fill in for their bass player, since I've got a good ear and I'm a fast learner. Currently I work as a bassist and a butcher, though my average yearly earnings as a musicians is ~20,000 or so. I'm completely self taught, and I moved from SF to NYC to go to school and play bass. I'm only 19.

I play Fender Precisions (I've got 4) and a Nash Precision through a Mesa Boogie 400+ through two Bergantino NV610s. I've also got a bunch of other basses (fretted and fretless Jazz basses, Rickenbacker, etc) but you'll usually see me with a P-Bass of some sort when I play out or record.

I'd like to try out fretless. Must sound better without the "buzz" from pulling off or fretting on, and make sliding like riding a cloud.

Got to be hard as hell getting the right notes though without a lot of practice.
