i dont consider myself an expert, but for those of you who are the mars volta has some pretty awesome guitar stuff, for those of you who have not heard of them they are like prog rock mixed with latin music and jazz with the occasional hint of metal or punk. i liek the way Goliath and Roulette Dares (the haunt of) sound but ive never tried to play them.
